What happens in a discovery call?
A discovery call is a chance for us to get to know each other a bit and ultimately see if we want to work together. I’ll spend some time asking questions about where you are in life, what your goals are, and what is holding you back. You’ll have a chance to ask any clarifying questions you have regarding me and coaching.
What is life coaching?
The focus of coaching is to develop and implement strategies to reach client‐identified goals, which will enhance performance and personal satisfaction. Coaching may address a variety of topics, including but not limited to specific personal projects, life balance and satisfaction, general conditions in the client's life, like confidence, habits, relationships, or mindset. A coach will support the client in their pursuits but not provide direct advice or instruction. Coaching is a growth oriented practice - one that supports a client's move from where they are to where they want to be.
What’s the difference between coaching and therapy?
While there are some similarities between coaching and therapy, they are very different endeavors. Therapy is a healthcare service and is usually reimbursable through health insurance policies. Both coaching and therapy utilize knowledge of human behavior, motivation, behavioral change and communication techniques. The major differences are in the focus, goals and level of professional responsibility. Coaching is not therapy and does not substitute for therapy, and does not prevent, cure, or treat any mental disorder or medical disease. Coaching is growth oriented; focusing on goal setting, habit formation, and forward thinking. Therapy is focused on addressing mental health conditions and healing.
Can I just do one session to see if I like it?
At this time, I’m not offering single sessions as it is not best practice. Much like working with a personal trainer for one session, lasting results will not be achieved with one coaching session. In order to have the most efficacy, I offer packages: 1 month, 3 months, and 6 month. Only following the conclusion of a package will single sessions be discussed.
